This website (https://trogdyne.com) is a personal blog and portfolio. I respect your privacy and only collect information that is necessary for basic site operation.

Comments

If you leave a comment, I collect:

• The data you enter in the comment form (name, email, website)
• Your IP address and browser user agent (used only for spam detection)

An anonymized hash of your email may be sent to Gravatar to display a profile picture if you use the service. Approved comments and metadata are stored indefinitely to recognize future comments and avoid moderation delays.

Cookies

• Comment cookies (optional): If you opt in, your name/email/website are saved for 1 year to auto-fill future comments.
• Temporary cookies are used during login (if enabled) but are not relevant since this site does not offer public user accounts.

Embedded Content
Posts may include embedded content (e.g., YouTube videos, GitHub gists). These behave as if you visited the third-party site directly and may collect data per their own policies.

What I Don’t Do

• I do not run a newsletter (as of January 2026)
• I do not collect emails or personal data beyond comments
• I do not use analytics (Google Analytics, etc.) — unless you’ve added one (check!)
• I do not sell or share your data with third parties (beyond Gravatar/spam detection)

Your Rights
If you’ve left comments, you may request:

• An export of your personal data
• Erasure of your data (except where legally required to retain)
